Community Tree Service, LLC was founded by Adolfo Garcia in 2001 in Watsonville, CA. At the time, he had only a truck, a chainsaw, and an incredible work ethic.
Over the years, Adolfo’s customer focus and consistent reinvestment in the company helped Community Tree grow into a regional powerhouse in California.
Between 2001 and today, there have been two significant milestones that lead to Community Tree’s growth. The first occurred in the 2010’s, when Community Tree started performing post-fire remediation work throughout California. On those projects, Community Tree’s leadership team developed relationships with other tree companies on site, as well as with the utility corporations. Strong performance and those relationships opportunity for Community Tree to start performing utility line clearance work in 2013.
The second milestone occurred in 2018. Following their successful hazard tree mitigation work, CTS invested heavily in specialized equipment, including two Sennebogen material handlers. This equipment opened the door for Community Tree to perform more large-scale tree removal projects.

Josh Teves
Chief Executive Officer
As the CEO of Community Tree Services, I bring over 20 years of experience in environmental services, with a specialized focus on vegetation management over the past year. My career at CTS began in March 2024, and since then, I have been dedicated to scaling our operations and building a top-notch management team. My primary responsibilities include hiring senior management, managing mergers and acquisitions, overseeing P&L, and setting the company’s strategic vision.
Gabriel Segura
Chief Financial Officer
My primary responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, capital and risk management, financial reporting, and integrating acquisitions. I work closely with the leadership team to ensure strong financial oversight and scalable growth as we continue to expand our footprint.
Steve Nigro
Vice President of Sales
With over 25 years of successful sales experience in the environmental remediation, construction, and hazardous waste industries, I’ve had the opportunity to develop strong client relationships across California and surrounding states. My 20 years in the West region have allowed me to work closely with consultants, responsible parties, general contractors, public sector managers, and vendors, ensuring the highest level of service and satisfaction.

My focus is on helping organize day-to-day operations for CTS, while promoting efficient, compliant, and safe execution. Using a strategy and operations background from McKinsey & Co. and BCG, I am helping fine-tune operations and execute the company’s top priorities to help CTS better serve our customers expanding needs.
David Martin
Safety Director
David Martin serves as Safety Director for Community Tree Services, bringing over a decade of experience in occupational health, safety leadership, and risk management. A DPR-approved Pesticide Safety Instructor with specialized Homeland Security emergency preparedness training, David excels at developing comprehensive safety programs, leading incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards. Prior to his current role, he managed safety operations in the agricultural supply sector. Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with family, restoring classic cars, and watching baseball.
